Ray Hugo at work2NUR-FM provides a forum for local artists to reach audiences not only in the Hunter, but right around Australia.

As a faculty of The University of Newcastle, the Conservatorium fosters music teaching and performance. In its Concert Hall, regarded as one of the finest in the country, Newcastle audiences enjoy recitals by students, and eminent local artists.

November 6 TARA WILLIAMS (soprano) in a Recital of Operatic Arias with Associate Artists, Patricia Williams (piano) and Jennifer Barnes (soprano). And in the second part of the program David Banney will conduct The Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra in Elgar’s, “ENIGMA VARIATIONS”.
November 13 A SHOWCASE CONCERT featuring Students from the Instrumental and Vocal Departments of the Con.
November 20 BERNADETTE LANNEN (soprano) in a Recital of “Airs and Arias” – storytelling in song – with Patricia Williams (piano) and Scottish Fiddler, Chris Duncan and Friends.
November 27 THE PETERSON QUARTET – An ensemble founded in East Germany in 1979 and touring Australia under the auspices of MUSICA VIVA.
December 4 HIGHLIGHTS FROM “Sounds of Spring”, a fund-raising concert for 2NUR-FM featuring Annabella Redman (soprano), The Hunter Singers, Maitland’s Counterpoint Choir, Alex Adams and Peter Trist, and The Hunter/Central Coast Schools Symphony Orchestra.
December 11 CHRISTMAS WINDS - Music for the Festive Season featuring The University Concert Band conducted by Michael Bell.
December 18 HIGHLIGHTS FROM “Christmas at the Con”, featuring Rod Barnes’ Big Band, Jenny Barnes (soprano), Christopher Allan (baritone), and “After 5” Cabaret Ensemblel.
